Carol was married to Tommy for six years, and she was the mother of Tommy’s children, 16-year-old twins Jack and Lily. Their biological mother was not in their lives since they were eight.
When they decided to get married, they went to family therapy to ensure the children that Carol was not there for taking their mother’s place, and she only wants to be with them in a happy family environment.
For the last six years, things were great. The twins were calling mom to Carol, and they were a happy family, until few months ago things changed.
The biological mother of twins, Maggie, returned to children’s lives. At first, there were some questions, but the twins were happy that their mother had returned. Carol was happy for the twins too, as they had a chance to rebuild their relationship with their mother.
But few months after Maggie returned, the twins started to call Carol by her name, instead of calling her “mom,” as they were calling her for years.
They were also being disrespectful against Carol too, where they were coming back to house at late hours and leaving the house messy. They were talking back to Carol, and stating that she was not their real mother.
Lately, they started calling names to Carol. Each time they call her a name, Carol would cry. They even blamed Carol for the separation of their parents. This was not right, as Carol met with Tommy two years after their parents’ separation.
As Carol had enough and stood up for herself, the twins went to live with their mother. As Tommy was aware of everything, he didn’t say anything to his children, as he let them live with their mother.
Carol was sure that she needed to teach them a lesson, so she cancelled their trip to Disney World. They were shocked when they learned that they weren’t going to their planned trip.
Lily blamed Carol with jealousy of their biological mother, while Tommy said nothing. As she asked for her husband’s help, Tommy said to Carol that she was wrong for cancelling the trip.
That was enough for Carol. She packed her things and went to stay at a hotel. Tommy said that she was overreacting. A day later, Tommy informed Carol that Maggie left the children once again. When the twins returned back to their home and saw that Carol was not in the house, they cried for Tommy told them that their behaviour was the reason why she left.
As the children called Carol in tears and apologized, she easily forgave them, but she needed time for her return. As the children were aware that they were wrong in their doings, Tommy believed that he did nothing wrong.
When she went back to take her belongings, Carol and Tommy talked, and Tommy apologized but it was too late now.
