As Deborah was at her daughter’s wedding, greeting people, she was shocked when she saw a familiar face. A man with her late husband’s appearance was walking towards to the stage, for the michrophone.
“Mark!” She whispered. But it was impossible, as Mark passed away twenty years ago. She spent twenty years with a man whom she didn’t love, the father of her daughter. After high school, she got married with her high school sweetheart, Frank.
Frank had a drinking problem, as he once was the popular football player. After an injury, he started to drink, and never stopped.
When their daughter Sienna was three, Deborah left Frank and started a new chapter in life with her daughter. She sought help from her mother with her daughter. “Mom, I want to go to New York, find a job and an apartment,” Deborah said to her mother. “Then I can come to fetch Sienna, but I need you to help me, to take care of her…”
She met with Mark while she was working at a hotel in New York. Mark was the brother of a millionaire, and he fell in love with the maid, Deborah. As it was magical, Mark had treated Deborah as if she was a princess. He even proposed to her but Deborah was still married to Frank.
After their divorce, Mark had put a ring on Deborah’s finger, despite his brother’s statements against his marriage with a maid.
A week after their marriage, Mark was killed. A car crash took him. After that, Deborah went back to Frank, as she was devastated. As years passed, Frank become more alcoholic, and Deborah focused on her daughter.
As time passed, one day, Frank lost his life too. He was not in a good shape as his alcoholism took his life.
Then the man on the stage called, “Deborah!”
“I made you a promise twenty years ago, that I would be the father your daughter needed, and I’m here to keep that promise!”
“Mark?” Deborah couldn’t believe her eyes. “Mark? Is that really you?”
“But you were dead…They told me…” She started to cry.
Mark revealed that he found out about Frank’s death, and decided to take his chance.
“I saw his obituary and I decided to take a chance. The past is over, but we can still have a future, Deborah. Will you marry me?” Mark smiled to Deborah.
Then Deborah pulled her necklace, where the ring Mark proposed to her was decorated with, “Yes, I will!” She said.
